Well, here we go again. The history of DaveWeb is a complex one... what started as a forms design endeavor in 1992 called "DaveForm Graphics," eventually migrated to a web design service in 1994 and was renamed "DaveWeb Graphics." Then in 1997 the name was shortened to "DaveWeb" when I decided I should buy a domain name and trademark my business. Later that year, I also began a partnership with fellow designers and programmers to expand the scope of the services offered. Of course, the dot-com crash was just around the corner, and the glory days of the DaveWeb group ended in mid-2000.

But even though the five people that made up the DaveWeb group no longer had work (back to our day jobs!) we had grown pretty tight during the three years we worked together, and so DaveWeb.com continued on as a place for us to voice our opinions on just about everything (hey, we had to have something to do with all that free time we suddenly had on our hands!). It was mostly just an amusement for us and our friends, but eventually found a small audience of strangers who liked what we had to say. Eventually, we moved on to other things, and that aspect of DaveWeb was shut down in March of 2003. Only an occasional web site design project brought us together.

Flash forward to a year later, now that DaveWeb is officially a decade old, and I thought I'd start up the site again... this time as a blog. I'll be posting new reviews and opinions, finding others to do the same, and even going back through the 263 entries from the past to see if any of them are worth re-posting. Will anybody want to read it? I have no idea. Even if nobody cares, at least I'll have a place to dump all the eclectic information that accumulates from day to day. Watch this space.
